GAMM-Workshop on
Analysis of Partial Differential Equations

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)
27-29 September, 2017

Organizers: Joost Hulshof (VU), Mark Peletier (TU/e), Jim Portegies (TU/e), Oliver Tse (TU/e)

Description

The scope of this workshop is to bring together mathematicians, who are working on the analysis of partial differential equations within Germany and its neighboring countries, and to advance the activities of the GAMM activity group "Analysis of Partial Differential Equations". The goal of the activity group is to support the communication and collaboration of all persons or groups interested in the mathematical analysis of partial differential equations and their applications. It exclusively and directly pursues scientific objectives which contribute to the promotion, spreading and application of the research field ”analysis of partial differential equations”.

Program

The program of the workshop contains 9 plenary lectures. Each plenary speaker is scheduled to speak for 45 minutes including discussion. Moreover, there will be contributed talks of 30 minutes each.

Travel information

By train

The university campus is situated near the Eindhoven railway (and bus) station. Leaving the platform, go down the stairs and turn right. Leave the station on the north side, facing the bus station. The university campus is situated to the north-east (to your right) and is about ten minutes by foot. Use the online international time table of the Dutch railways for international train connections to Eindhoven.

By car

You have the possibility to park on campus (P1–P12 on this map). We will provide you with an exit card.

By plane

Via Amsterdam airport Schiphol (AMS)

From Amsterdam airport Schiphol take the direct train to Eindhoven (2x per hour). The Schiphol train station is directly under the arrival hall. Tickets are available from the NS point of sale or from the machine, both within the arrival hall (it is not possible to purchase a ticket on the train). The big yellow NS (the Dutch abbreviation for Dutch railways) signs indicate platform number and time tables. The Dutch railways has an online train time table (enter "Schiphol" for Amsterdam airport) which also indicates platform numbers and final destinations of trains. The journey takes about an hour and a half to Eindhoven. A single ticket Schiphol–Eindhoven costs 19,80€.

Via Eindhoven airport (EIN)

There is a shuttle bus available from Eindhoven Airport to the center of Eindhoven (400/401). Another possibility is to take a taxi to the center of Eindhoven, which will cost about 35€.

Other airports

It is also possible to arrive Eindhoven via the airports of Maastricht (MST), Rotterdam (RTM), Brussels (BRU), Düsseldorf (DUS) and Düsseldorf-Weeze (NRN).
