svstud is the name of the Linux server used for student education and projects. Every student of the faculty can request access to the server.
svstud can only be used remotely, using Exceed or regular SSH logins.
Accounts on svstud can be requested at the Notebook Service Centre of the faculty, HG 8.86. Accounts will be closed as soon as you are no longer registered as a faculty student.
We can create groups for projects, with student accounts as members. You can request a group by e-mailing the helpdesk with the following information:
- what do you need the group for (i.e. what project)
- how long do you need the group (we need an end date)
- which accounts should have access, and who is the group leader
Outside students can get an account for the duration of the project, but only when requested some time in advance. These accounts will be closed when the project is over.
