There are several different options to choose from when you want to publish your webpages.
For Windows users, by far the easiest way is to map a network drive. This allows you to browse your published pages using the usual Windows tools. Programs such as FTPSync and Dreamweaver can also publish to a network drive.
In case a network drive is unavailable (when publishing information from outside the campus for example), you can use a SFTP client. Note that this is not the same as a FTP client.
For Linux users it is easiest to use sftp.
Note that different passwords apply for secure file transfer and for your Windows login. You can have the same passwords but you need to maintain that match manually.
Your available diskspace is dependant on your quota.
