| Title: |
Quantifying and optimising RF-coil quality for Magnetic
Resonance Imaging |
|
Abstract
|
This work deals with the construction of simulation
models for RF coils used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). In addition
to the models that are used to simulate the electric behaviour of these coils,
models that quantify the quality of RF coils are introduced. The models
for quality quantification are derived using retaional arguments from the
domain of MRI. A first attempt is made to use the models for RF coil quality,
to perform geometric optimization. RF coil modelling and simulation relies
on a huge, increasing set of software tools. A software platform, called
MRRFsim, is introduced as a basis for future RF coil developments.
