Global existence of positive mild solutions
to a family of kinetic
chemotaxis equations

Abstract
|
We start with an introduction on a system of
semilinear partial differential equations of mixed-type with non-local
nonlinearities that arise in the modelling of chemotaxis by means of
kinetic equations.
After presenting a proper functional analytic framework, we show how
one may establish well-posedness of mild solutions for this 'hybrid'
system local-in-time using semigroup techniques and exploit positivity
in order to prove global existence of positive solutions.
