Mathematics
for Technology at University of Catania |
Abstract
|
In this talk I shall present a review of the main
industrial research projects currently being done at the Department of
Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Catania. After
dwelling on the main projects with STMicroelectronics , concerning
device modeling, analogue circuits optimization and reverse statistical
engineering, the other projects will be briefly
outlined. They include: satellite pointing from a ship (with the
company Antech); extended cooperative logistics (with the company
AIVE); simulation of a knee prostheses implant (with the company LIMA);
strategic environmental assessment (with the company INFORM). In
all these projects the relevant mathematical aspects will be
highlighted as well as the expected technological improvements.
