Towards a robust
polynomial eigenvalue solver
|
Abstract
|
In
recent years there has been a growing demand for the accurate solution
of polynomial eigenvalue problems. However, robust standard solvers are
still lacking.
In this talk we discuss some of the issues involved in developing
robust polynomial eigenvalue solvers such as conditioning, backward
error, scaling and iterative refinement.
Examples are presented using a new nonlinear eigenvalue collection
developed jointly by the Numerical Analysis Groups at the TU Berlin and
Manchester.
