The Finite
Volume - Complete Flux Scheme Applied to Pulse Tube Refrigerator Models
in Cartesian and Cylindrical Coordinates (Master's thesis
presentation)
|
Abstract
|
In
this
presentation, two pulse tube refrigerator models are studied. The
first one, in Cartesian coordinates, is solved by the finite volume -
complete flux scheme developed by Ten Thije Boonkkamp and Anthonissen.
This scheme is second order convergent for both diffusion and advection
dominated problems. It is first applied on a test problem. The second
model, in cylindrical coordinates, is solved by the cylindrical
complete flux scheme. I developed this scheme in my research and
therefore it is also first applied to a test problem. In combination
with the trapezoidal rule for time integration, the cylindrical
complete flux scheme is second order convergent in both space and time.
In further research it can be extended to a two- or three-dimensional
version.
