Abstract

| This is the first “practarium” in a series of two about
explicit and
implicit Runge-Kutta methods. An overview of the construction of these
methods will be given, based on Butcher tableaux.
Then, the participants will be given the opportunity to work
with the
introduced methods in the MATHEMATICA software package, which will be
made
available during the practarium, together with a laptop computer.
