Abstract
|
In this seminar we will discuss
about the differential equations expressing locally the conservation of
mass, momentum and energy which are derived from integral forms of the
equations of balance expressing fundamental postulates of continuum
mechanics. The derivation will make use of certain integral
transformation formulas, especially the divergence theorem (Gauss’s
theorem) which is independent of any choice of coordinates. At the
second part of talk we will also consider the thermodynamics’ laws, the
first law (energy balance) and the second law (entropy) and express
some basic and important thermodynamic parameters and the relations
governing them for a thermodynamic system which is a closed system for
continuous matter.
