Abstract
|
Solving hyperbolic conservation laws
frequently leads to discontinuities in the considered functions.
Especially for the reconstruction or approximation of such function
classical methods fail or provide less accuracy. Hence refined methods
have to be applied. The CASA seminar, taking place the first semester
2006/07, considers this advanced part of numerical approximations. The
first talk will mainly give a brief introduction, explain the main
concepts and finally will make a first attempt in solving the addressed
problems. Relating to contents the reconstruction based on average
values, the approximation to the first derivative from point values and
the so called ENO approximation are discussed.
