Abstract
|
We discuss the finite element
discretization of the weak formulation of the elliptic obstacle problem
that was introduced in the previous seminar. For this discretization an
a priori error estimate in the H^1 norm will be proved. Finally, we
illustrate the finite element approximation of the obstacle problem
formulated in one spatial dimension for a model problem.
