Abstract
|
Parabolic problems may give rise to
stiff equations for which standard explicit methods have a severe
stability constraint, while unconditionally stable implicit schemes may
be too costly in higher space dimensions.
We look for stability polynomials with a stability region as large as
possible. Based on these polynomials we construct explicit
Runge-Kutta-type methods and test these on the
advection-diffusion-reaction equation.
