BEM simulation for glass parisons

The main objective of this research is to develop reliable numerical methods to simulate the pressing of glass. The glass can be modelled as a Stokes flow with three types of boundaries: free, fixed and ``moving'' boundaries. Because of axisymmetry we actually have a 2-D problem. This is solved by rewriting it as a boundary integral equation. A boundary element method is then employed to solve the integral equation of the Stokes flow and time integration is carried out by a mid-point scheme.
