During the period 2004/2007, I hope to perform my PhD-project with the above title. The project is a cooperation between the
Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and
Philips Research.
The goal is to increase the speed of transient simulations of electrical circuits.
Because circuits consist of fast and slow subcircuits, an attractive
method is to integrate these subcircuits by means of different
stepsizes, which is also called "multirate". Clearly, the used
partition and the coupling are very important for the result.
Model reduction is another method, which will be studied. Then,
it is tried to find much smaller equivalent models, such that the chip
still is properly modelled.
