Advanced ANOVA with SPSS

General info:

Statistical techniques are widely used to analyze data obtained from experimental or observational studies. For complex designs, where the (simultaneous) effect of several factors on a continuous response variable is studied the simplest statistical techniques are insufficient and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) becomes the researcher’s preferred tool for data analysis. In the CEE/e-course ‘Advanced ANOVA with SPSS’ a range of techniques associated with ANOVA are discussed and underlying principles are explained. Furthermore, the use of representative statistical software like SPSS is demonstrated and participants get the opportunity for hands-on experience using SPSS for advanced ANOVA analyses.

The following topics will be treated:

• Introduction and Overview.
• Factorial Randomized Groups Designs: One-way and
Multi Factor ANOVA, Interactions, Pos-Hoc Tests and Contrasts.
• Repeated Measures Designs and Mixed Linear Models.
• The Analysis of Longitudinal Data.
• Interpretation and Presentation of the Results.

After successful completion of the course participants should be able to perform more advanced ANOVA-analyses with SPSS independently.

Documentation Will be handed out at the beginning of the course.
Language The language of communication can be either Dutch or English, to be decided by mutual arrangement with the participants.
