LaTeX

LaTex is a scientific word processing system that is very suitable for making technical documentation such as: lecture notes, project reports, scientific papers and dissertations, particularly if mathematical formulas play an important role. The LaTex package is available on a large number of systems, including Windows and UNIX.
During the course a Windows version of LaTex is used.

The following subjects will be treated:

introduction to LaTex
mathematic formulas
defining own commands and environments
tables and letters
simple drawings with the picture environment
importing Encapsulated PostScript Files
page lay-out
index and literature references
transparencies

Documentation	Will be handed out at the beginning of the course contents of the course (PDF-file)
Language	The documentation used in this course is in Dutch. The language of communication can be either Dutch or English, to be decided by mutual arrangement with the students.
Prerequisite knowledge	Some experience with Windows
Form	Partly theory, partly hand-on experience
