C

Together with the operating system UNIX, the programming language C has become very popular in the scientific/technological community. But also in administrative environments C is used more and more. The language offers structured facilities that can be compared to other higher programming languages (such as Pascal), enabling efficient and easy programming. However in order to ensure maximun flexibility C also offers elementary programming facilities with which maximum flexibility is offered. Moreover a standard (ANSI C) has been defined, making programmes easily transferable.

As a higher programming language C offers facilities for:

  • structured programming (control flow)
  • structuring of data
  • dynamic data structures
  • modular programming (functions)
  • programming on a large scale (separate compilation)
As a lower programming language C offers:
  • quick compilation to efficient code
  • bit operators
  • macros
  • pointers
During the course  Borland CBuilder will be   used.
