XML

This course offers insight in the use of XML for defining and transforming data structures.
The students learn to make a definition for a language for data exchange in a specific field and makes get acquainted with the tools to transform documents in this language for all kinds of purposes, such as web presentations.

The following subjects will be treated:

XML as a meta language
creating Data Type descriptions in XML
creating XML documents and verifying their correctness
using XSLT for transformation of XML documents

Documentation	Will be handed out at the beginning of the course
Language	The documentation used in this course is in Dutch. The language of communication can be either Dutch or English, to be decided by mutual arrangement with the students.
Prerequisite knowledge	HTML (preferred, however not necessary)
Form	Theory with some hand-on experience
Course duration	4 halve days
