MS Windows 7
Windows 7 is Microsoft’s most recent Operating System for
PC’s. This course focuses on the switchover from Windows XP to Windows 7, as TU/e
skipped Windows Vista.
The course can be given in the form of a class discussion, guided practice, or a
mix, according to the participants’ preferences. The following subject will be
treated successively:
- The main differences between Windows 7 and Windows XP,
- Working with Windows 7 in networks,
- New menu structure and new control functions,
- File management including how to build a convenient folder tree,
- Using internal and external hard disks, memory sticks, and other USB devices,
- Using basic Win and Office components,
- Using and customizing the Desktop, Security issues, using Internet Explorer safely,
- Adapting the Task Bar and the menu’s to your own wishes,
- How to handle updates, how to create and maintain user accounts,
- Installing, maintaining, and removing programs,
- How to interpret frequent error messages and what can be done to avoid errors,
- How to use the Help function.
