Research activities

The main activities in our group are related to:

Algebraic Combinatorics

This includes the study of association schemes, designs, (mutually orthogonal) latin squares, etc. Notably, existence results, constructions and unicity (given a specification of some properties) of these structures are of interest.

Finite Geometry

The study of the geometry of groups of Lie-type, buildings (introduced by Tits) and the diagram geometries of Buekenhout. Also included are combinatorial problems concerning point sets in finite projective spaces, especially blocking sets and arcs.

Computer Algebra

Algebra, viewed as the study of operations on sets can, when the computer is able to perform these operations, be supportd by expert systems, formula-manipulation, searching software. as well as classical computations. The study of the methods to realize this is the focus of this project.
