Admission criteria
The admission policy requires previous diplomas, additional skills and knowledge of applicants to be of high quality; they should be at an appropriate level and relevant in nature. It is also expected that the student will be highly motivated.
A selection committee will evaluate each applicant's capability to complete the study successfully in two years, and will decide on the admission or rejection of each individual student. Based on the documents submitted by the applicant, and possibly on additional testing and a personal interview, the selection committee will make its selection decision taking into account the following points:
•The applicant should hold at least a BSc degree in applied mathematics (or a mathematical oriented technical bachelor) from his/her previous study, which should meet standards of quality and level. In addition, the previous study program should contain sufficient engineering or technical aspects. Consequently, the major of the previous study should fit the MSc course. This will normally be the case if the previous diploma was obtained from a technical or engineering faculty and the study program is in the field of mathematics, science or engineering.
•The Grade Point Average (GPA) of the previous study should prove to be of high quality. This will normally be the case for GPA = 7.50 or higher (on a 10.00 scale).
•If your mother tongue is not English, you need to prove that you have sufficient fluency in English. Please check this page of the coordinating university’s website for details.
In individual cases the committee will decide whether any exceptional circumstances, compensations or alternatives should allow for deviating from one or more of the selection criteria above. It is the applicant's responsibility to provide the selection committee with any relevant proof, documents and/or arguments that may support these exceptions, and the applicant should do so on his/her own initiative. Exceptional circumstances may result in conditional admission.
The number of students is limited to 50 students/year for the Master's program in Industrial Mathematics. There will be a careful selection of the participants.
