The second year will largely be spent on a practical research project.
The minor may be colouring the particular choice (as it may be the other way
around, since research subjects are often known in advance). The knowledge
acquired in the first year will be applied in a multidisciplinary environment
with an emphasis on high quality research and development work, usually in
industry. Topics are available in a large variety of areas, like (bio)materials,
flow of glass, radiative heat, electrical circuits, flow and transport in porous
media, etc. The research project will be finalised with a written report. A mid
term and final oral presentation are planned.
