Frequently asked questions

What are the entrance requirements for this Master's programme?
Students entering the programme should have an academic Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and should be able to express themselves in English. English spoken is required. A selection committee will decide on acceptance.

What kind of other costs should I expect?
Costs for living about EUR 3.000,-
Costs for housing about EUR 2.200,-
Health insurance about EUR 400,-
Small expenses for recreation about EUR 650,-

Are the courses taught in Dutch or in English?
All courses are taught in English. Similarly, all material will be in English. Therefore English spoken is required.

Is it possible to follow a selection of the courses from the programme at a reduced rate?
No. Students are expected to pay the regular tuition fee, which entitles them to all courses. No reductions apply when a student only wants to follow a limited number of courses.

Which formal requirements should I satisfy to be allowed to live and study in the Netherlands?

Since visa take about six months, registration by the end of February is needed in order to be able to start the next September.

Which career perspectives will I have after finishing your Master programme?
Graduates will be able to find a job in governmental organisations like TNO, CBS and companies like Philips, KPN Research, Ortec, and many others.
Also an academic career is a possibility---the most natural step in this direction is to continue studies with a PhD programme in Mathematics or Computer Science.

Is the Master's degree you offer officially certified by a Dutch or international authority?
Yes, our Master degree programme in Mathematics has been accredited for the period of 2002-2015.

When does the programme start?
The curriculum starts at the beginning of the academic year: September 1, each year.
