Activities to come (April 2011)

Dear Members of the IEEE Task Force on Process Mining,

Yesterday there was the meeting of the Data Mining Technical Committee (DMTC) of the IEEE at SSCI 2011 in Paris.

We have been asked to organize activities at (a) IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI 2012) in Brisbane http://www.ieee-wcci2012.org/ and (b) IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI 2013) in Singapore. Possible activities are tutorials, tracks in conferences of these symposia, or event separate conferences. Please let me know if you would like to organize something at these events.

At IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Data Mining (part of SSCI 2011) there was a special track on process mining. The track was quite successful (good talks and sufficient submissions). It would be good to repeat this (please volunteer).

The next event co-organized with the Task Force is the 7th Workshop on Business Process Intelligence (BPI 11), organized by Barbara Weber, Boudewijn van Dongen, and Diogo R. Ferreira. See http://www.win.tue.nl/bpi2011.

Please also note the Business Process Intelligence Challenge (BPIC 2011)!!! This is the first process mining contest. An event log is provided and the goal is to show and compare the applicability of today's process mining techniques. The log can be downloaded from doi:10.4121/uuid:d9769f3d-0ab0-4fb8-803b-0d1120ffcf54. The Business Process Intelligence Challenge (BPIC) is sponsored by Pallas Athena and Futura Process Intelligence.

Please share information about other activities that are taking place.

Cheers, Wil.

ps. During the meeting at BPM 2010 we agreed that we would write a “process mining manifesto”. Now that the process mining book has been completed I hope to find time to initiate this. Input and ideas for this manifesto are welcome.
