Cardio Point (WG 16)
[ back to 'events' ]

When and Where
Organized by the Macsinet Working Group “ Cardiac and Cardiovascular Models” at the Castle St. Martin, Kehlbergstraße 35, 8054 Graz, Austria.
The MACSI-net event is embedded into the workshop Issues in Cardiovascular Respiratory and Metabolic Control Modeling organized by the Special Research Center on Optimization and Control within the Department of Mathematics at the University of Graz on 12-13 June 2003

Introduction:
The MACSI-net event >>Cardio Point<< is intended to provide a meeting point for people working in the field of Cardiology resp. the Cardiovascular System with the aim to bring employees of the medical-technical industry resp. hospitals in contact with scientists. Through these contacts it is hoped that

  1. application-oriented scientific work is stimulated, in particular in the area of improving the existing mathematical models of the Cardiovascular System by considering combined/coupled models
  2. precise information about how scientists can help enterprises of the medical-technical industry in their problems and tasks is spread within this area.

To put this into practice the event is embedded into the scientific workshop on 'Issues in Cardiovascular Respiratory and Metabolic Control Modelling'. This workshop is organized by Prof. Franz Kappel, Department of Mathematics, University of Graz and Prof. Thomas Kenner, Department of Physiology, University of Graz. The workshop already is the second event of this type taking place in Graz. Among scientists it is also visited by people from the medical sector (hospitals) and the medical-technical sector. Every participant of the Workshop can participate to Cardio Point as well.
