Selection of projects The projects are not necessarily selected within the orientation chosen by the involved participants. The main criterion for selection is that the project should provide a good opportunity to train various aspects of mathematical modeling as well as communicative and social skills. For the same reason, it is not necessary for the projects to have a profound mathematical content. Mathematical analysis is just one of the many aspects and should not absorb a non-proportional amount of time. Moreover, mathematical abilities will be trained amply in several curricular courses. In order to ensure that the relevant non-mathematical aspects play a central role, it is essential that each project has an external problem-owner with a non-mathematical point-of-view. |
