Design of cryptographic hardware resistant against electromagnetic analysis attacks
By measuring the electromagnetic radiation of a chip during the execution of a cryptographic algorithm, it is possible to reveal
information about the secret key. Research has to be done in order to find out what kind of antennas schould be used and where
they should be positioned. Also methods have to be investigated on how to analyse the measurement results. Once the weaknesses of
a cryptochip have been determined, countermeasures need to be taken to improve the resistance against electromagnetic analysis
attacks.
