Practical extensions of project scheduling models.
The PhD project will focus on the optimization of parts of production or logistic chains. In this context
the possibilities and limitations of models and methods for resource-constrained project scheduling problems
(RCPSP) is investigated. The focus will be on the spatial resources. Spatial resources have not been considered
in existing RCPSP models but occur often in practice. The different forms of spatial resources will be modeled
within the existing RCPSP frame work, the complexity of the problems will be studied and different solution
approaches have to be developed (heuristics, exact algorithms and approximations).
