Notes:

1)  According to Frederick, HQ, A and E Coys were subtitled '(Royal Highland Fusiliers)' by 1973. However, RHQ Royal Highland Fusiliers writes they kept titles untill 1995.

2)  There is another explanation since RHQ Royal Scots mentions 'A' Company between 1992 and 1995. The Royal Scots and KOSB were scheduled for amalgamation during Options, and 2/52 Lowland would become its TA battalion. All KOSB elements from 1/52 Lowland (C Coy) merged with C Coy 2/52 Lowland to form a large company at Dumfries and Galashiels. D Coy became also KOSB. A Coy disbanded in favour of B Coy which became A Coy, leaving B Coy in anticipation for new KOSB Company from Galashiels elements to be formed when the amalgamation should take place. By then A Coy would merge with HQ Coy leaving HQ/HQ Coy at Edinburgh and B/C/D Coy at Galashiels, Dumfires and Motherwell respectively. Amalgamation plans were rescinded, and 2/52 Lowland became Lowland.
