The Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding)

Formed 1 July 1881 by amalgamation of 33rd Regiment of Foot and 76th Regiment of Foot.

1st Battalion
Raised 12 February 1702 as the Earl of Huntingdon's Regiment of Foot.

3rd Battalion The Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding) (Yorkshire Volunteers)

Formed 25 April 1993 with Headquarters at Endcliffe Hall, Sheffield by redesignation of similar designated companies of 3rd/4th Battalion Yorkshire Volunteers.

COMPANIES:
HQ (Hallamshire) Company at Endcliffe Hall, Sheffield.
A (The Sheffield Artillery Volunteers) Company at Barnsley with det at Rotherham.
B Company at Halifax with det at Keighley.
C Company at Huddersfield.
 

1 July 1999: Battalion disbanded as result of the Strategic Defence Review.
'HQ' Company and 'A' Company reformed as 'Fontenay' Company The East and West Riding Regiment;
'B' Company and 'C' Company reformed as 'Ypres' Company The East and West Riding Regiment .
