The Gloucestershire Regiment

Formed 1 July 1881 by amalgamation of 28th Regiment of Foot and 61st Regiment of Foot.
27 April 1994 amalgamated with The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) to form The Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment.

1st Battalion
Formed 12 February 1702 as Gibson's Regiment of Foot.
27 April 1994 merged with 1st Battalion The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment to form 1st Battalion The Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment.
