The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire

Formed 25 April 1958 by amalgamation of The West Yorkshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales's Own) and The East Yorkshire Regiment (The Duke of York's Own).

1st Battalion
Formed 25 April 1958 by merger of 1st Battalion The West Yorkshire Regiment  and 1st Battalion The East Yorkshire Regiment.

3rd Battalion The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire (Yorkshire Volunteers)

Formed 25 April 1993 with Headquarters at Worsley Barracks, York by redesignation similar designated companies of 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Volunteers.

COMPANIES:
HQ Company at Worsley Barracks, York with Mortar Pltn at Beverley, Recce Pltn at Mona House, Hull and ATk Pltn at Lumley Barracks, York.
A Company at Lumley Barracks, York with Pltn at Goole.
B Company at Mona House, Hull.
C (Leeds Rifles) Company at Leeds with Pltn at Castleford.

1 April 1995: Battalion converted into a Fire Support Battalion:
Beverly detachment 'HQ' Company and Goole detachment 'A' Company absorbed by 'B' Company;
'C' Company at Leeds, Castleford absorbed by 'A' Company.
COMPANIES:
HQ Company at Worsley Barracks, York.
A Company at Lumley Barracks, York with Mortar Pltn (Leeds Rifles) at Leeds and GPMG(SF) Pltn at Castleford.
B Company at Hull with Mortar Pltn at Beverley and Goole.
 

1 July 1999: Battalion disbanded as result of the Strategic Defence Review.
Companies reorganised into The East and West Riding Regiment  as Imphal and Quebec Company respectively.
