The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Queen's and Royal Hampshires)

Formed 9 September 1992 by amalgamation of The Queen's Regiment and The Royal Hampshire Regiment.

Formed 9 September 1992 by merger of 1st Battalion The Queen's Regiment and 1st Battalion The Royal Hampshire Regiment.

2nd Battalion
Formed 9 September 1992 by merger of 2nd Battalion The Queen's Regiment and 1st Battalion The Royal Hampshire Regiment.

3rd (Volunteer) Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Queen's and Royal Hampshires)

Formed 1 July 1999 with Headquarters at Canterbury by amalgamation of 5th (Volunteer) Battalion  and part 6th/7th (Volunteer) Battalion.

COMPANIES:
HQ (The Buffs) Company at Canterbury.
A (Queen's Royal Surreys) Company at Farnham (Rifle Pltn and Recce Pltn) with Pltn at Camberley. Formed by redesignation of 'A' Company 6th/7th Battalion.
B (Royal Sussex) Company at Brighton (Rifle Pltn and GPMG Pltn) with Pltn at Worthing. Formed by redesignation of 'B' Company 6th/7th Battalion.
C (Royal West Kent) Company at Canterbury with Assault Pioneer Pltn at Dover. Formed by redesignation of 'HQ' Company 5th Battalion.


5th (Volunteer) Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Queen's and Royal Hampshires)

Formed 9 September 1992 with Headquarters at Canterbury by redesignation of 5th (Volunteer) Battalion The Queen's Regiment.

COMPANIES:
HQ (Albuhera) Company at Canterbury with Assault Pioneer Pltn at Dover. Formed by redesignation of 'HQ' Company and 'B' Company 5th Battalion The Queen's Regiment.
A (Anzio) Company at Guildford with Pltn at Cobham by redesignation of 'A' Company 5th Battalion The Queen's Regiment.
B (Kohima) Company at Gillingham with Pltn at Maidstone by redesignation of 'E' Company 5th Battalion The Queen's Regiment.
C (Cinque Ports) Company at Hastings by redesignation of 'C' Company 5th Battalion The Queen's Regiment.
 

1 July 1999: Battalion disbanded as result of the Strategic Defence Review.
'HQ' Company redesignated as 'HQ' Company and 'C' Company 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion . Remainder disbanded.


6th/7th (Volunteer) Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Queen's and Royal Hampshires)

Formed 9 September 1992 with Headquarters at Horsham by merger of 6th/7th (Volunteer) Battalion The Queen's Regiment with elements 2nd Battalion The Wessex Regiment (Volunteers) .

COMPANIES:
HQ (Alamein) Company at Horsham with GPMG (SF) at Crawley. Formed merger of 'HQ' Company and 'C' Company 6th/7th Battalion The Queen's Regiment.
A (Salerno) Company at Farnham with Pltn at Camberley by redesignation of 'A' Company 6th/7th Battalion The Queen's Regiment.
B (Somme) Company at Brighton with Pltn at Worthing by redesignation of 'B' Company 6th/7th Battalion The Queen's Regiment.
C (Duke of Connaught's) Company at Portsmouth with 9 (Princess Beatrice's) Pltn at Newport, IOW. Formed by amalgamation of 'A' Company and 'B' Company 2nd Battalion The Wessex Regiment.
 

1 July 1999: Battalion disbanded as result of the Strategic Defence Review.
'A' Company and 'B' Company transferred as 'A' Company and 'B' Company 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion; 'C' Company redesignated 'C' Company The Royal Rifle Volunteers.
