This page intends to give a very brief description of the volunteer
elements of the REME. A lot of information is missing and visitors are
invited to contribute additions. The information here was compiled by dr.
G.E. Watson and generously shared with author.
It should be notes that the Light Aid Detachments, found in almost
every other Regiment and Corps, are manned by the REME as well.
101 Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (Volunteers)
Formed 1995 with Headquarters at Chorley by grouping independent companies.

126 Reclamation Company at Coventry.
127 Workshop Company at Clifton, Manchester. New formed
153 Workshop Company at Grangemouth.
1 July 1999: HQ moved to Queensferry.
102 Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (Volunteers)
Formed 1995 with Headquarters at Newton Aycliffe by grouping independent
companies.

146 Workshop Company at Rotherham. New formed out of 118
Company.
147 Port & Reclamation Company at Scunthorpe. New formed
1997.
186 (Tyne Electrical Engineers) Workshop Company at Walker,
Newcastle-upon-Tyne. New formed 1997 from elements 124 Company.
1 July 1999: 118 Company became independent.

Formed 1967 from 49 North Midland Division Regiment RCT (TA).
1995 transferred to 102 Battalion REME (V).
1 July 1999 became independent again. Formed part of specialist 105
Battalion REME (V).
