The Royal Welsh Regiment

Formed 1 July 1999 with Headquarters at Maindy Barracks, Cardiff.
Successor to 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers and 2nd (Volunteer) Battalion The Royal Regiment of Wales.

COMPANIES:
A (Royal Welch Fusiliers) Company at Colwyn Bay with Pltn at Caernarfon. Formed by amalgamation of 'B' Company and 'D' Company 3rd Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers.
B (Royal Regiment of Wales) Company at Swansea. Formed by redesignation of 'A' Company 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Wales.
C (Royal Regiment of Wales) Company at Maindy Barracks, Cardiff with Pltn at Pontypridd. Formed by amalgamation of 'HQ' Company and 'C' Company 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Wales.
D (Royal Welch Fusiliers) Company at Wrexham with Pltn at Queensferry. Formed by amalgamation of 'HQ' Company and 'A' Company 3rd Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers.

Notes on support platoons the Royal Welch Fusiliers companies share a Recce and an Assault Pioneer Platoon, the Royal Regiment of Wales companies share Mortar and Anti-Tank Platoons.
