About my Phd
NumLab
In the future this page should contain information about the project I
am working on. However, at this moment there is only a poster I had to
prepare for a seminar at Rolduc. This poster should give some information
on the NumLab project.
There is also a NumLab web-page: NumLab.
Further research
The next three years of my Phd whould be occupied with preconditioning
techniques for the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations. This sounds a bit
to be allinclusive, so I will concentrate on one "thing". The advantage
of the NumLab toolbox mentioned above is that I can easily test
for given matrices, for the moment being, some solvers and preconditioners.
Thus, another Phd who is working on some practical model and who can assemle
the operator, and the corresponding linear system to solve his model, can
come to me with his matrix and righthandside vector (apologies for the
linear algebraic language). These two datasets I can feed to a solver and
find a solution, probably in conjunction with some preconditioning.
For the Engineering Mechanics seminar 2001 to be held in Rolduc, the followin
poster was made:
