General

I am a Ph.D. student at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE).

I am working within the group System Architecture and Networking.

Since May 2001 I have been working as Ph.D. student at the SACC project.

Beside working, I enjoy practicing sports (karate, judo, volleyball, spinning, weight lifting…). During my free time
and holiday I love taking pictures.

Study and Research

From 1994 to 2000 I studied at the Department of Computer Science of University of Catania.

I graduated (MSc) in October 2000 under the supervision of Vladimiro Sassone.

The subject of the thesis was to extend the interoperability of Obliq (an OO language based on Modula-3) with the use of CORBA.

Currently, I am working in the development of methods that can facilitate the development and maintainability
of distributed applications. In this research, I am coached by Michel Chaudron , Maarten van Steen and Martin Rem.

Our proof of concept is an implementation of a middleware called GSpace.

Since October 2004, I joined the SwA Group at Philips Research Labs in Eindhoven where GSpace has been used

for building real-world applications.  We concentrate on two application domains: Consumer Electronics and

Personal Health Care Systems. My coach at Philips is Wim Stut.

You can find out more about GSpace in the following List of Publications.
