Programs made by Hans Zantema
- MAZE.EXE Every time you play this a new maze is designed, in which only
one way to the exit exists. In particular, suitable for children below 10
years old.
- BLOK.EXE This game called "Block Maze" consists of 28 intellectual puzzles
based on mazes with extra obstacles. Definitely not only for children.
- MICE.EXE The cat has to catch 10 mice in a maze, but the mice are running
away.
- SNAKE.EXE The snake grows and grows, except when eating an apple. Based on
an old theme.
- MAZEGAME.EXE covers all four games, starting with a menu in which you can
choose which of the four you want to play.
All programs and some extra
files are collected in the zipped file MAZEGAME.ZIP
An
extension of "Block Maze" in which solutions are maintained and can be replayed
is collected in the zipped file BLOCK.ZIP
Using a
special password for all 28 puzzles the best known solution can be shown; this
password can be obtained by email from me.
All programs are made using
Visual Basic and run under Windows 3.xx or higher.
- A newer program (january 1998) is BEAR HUNTING . Here you
have to catch bears by throwing boxes until they cannot move any more. It
contains over 40 levels, but you can add your own levels too. It offers the
facility for replaying earlier solutions. As a kind of game it is related to
Block Maze. The file is a zip-file, after unzipping this file the program is
executed by bj.exe. The program is written in DELPHI, and runs under Windows
3.xx or higher.
- The last program (april 1999) is BEAR MAZE . This is a
simple maze game where 4 bears in the corners of a maze have to be caught.
Any kind of comment is highly appreciated.
Some other programs are
only available in Dutch. One is "spoor", which is also a maze style program, but
having the facility that the user can design his own levels. You can get it from
here by clicking on the
entry hz.zip. After unzipping that file you can play speel.exe. This creates a
menu from which you can choose various programs, including the "spoor" game. If
you do not know Dutch you may have problems with reading the instructions:
please see it as part of the puzzle. To give some hints for "spoor": "speel"
means playing existing levels and "maak" means that you can design your own
levels. In "zoek de verschillen" you have to look for the differences in two
equal-looking picture and have to click on them. For a completely different kind
of intellectual puzzle try "handel". If you can not figure out the game, please
email me about it, then I can explain. Finally by "liedjes" you can hear some
songs.
