  • (November 2012) Jaron Sanders wins 2012 ASML Prize for Mathematics. More info can be found here
  • (October 2012) Peter van de Ven wins 2012 Beta PhD award. More info can be found here
  • (September 2012) There is an open PhD position. Possible topics include wireless networks and interacting particle systems, and scaling limits for reflected processes. I'm looking for a candidate with a strong background in mathematics, in particular probability theory and analysis. Please send me an email if you're interested and want to find out more.

  • (May 2011) Niek Bouman received the best student paper award at the ValueTools 2011 conference, for the paper Stability of Spatial Wireless Systems with Random Admissible-Set Scheduling.
  • (January 2011) Peter van de Ven was awarded the 2011-2012 IBM Herman Goldstine Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mathematical Sciences. Here is a link to Peter's website.
  • (November 2010) Bo Zhang has won the Nicholson Prize 2010 of INFORMS for the paper Staffing call centers with impatient customers: refinements to many-server asymptotics.
