FAQ: How do I apply to a PhD position?

THE RIGHT WAY

You first check if we have a vacancy you like (look at the 'vacancy'
links on http://www.win.tue.nl/~setalle/, there is one link for the TU
Eindhoven and one for the University of Twente), and then you apply
for the position by following the procedure described in the
advertisement (the procedure is strict and changes according to the
University you apply to).

Bottomline: if there are no vacancies there is no way we can hire you.

Vacancies come and go, so you might want to take a look at the site
every now and then (we hire PhD students all year long).

THE WRONG WAY 

You send me (or one of the members of our group) an email with a CV
and a motivation letter. I receive many such emails per week, and I
cannot answer them all.

If there is no vacancy for what you are looking for, then we cannot
hire you and if there is a vacancy, you should still follow the
procedure.
