Research

Project (official website): VITRUVIUS (Versatile Interface for TRUstworthy Vltal User (oriented) Services)

Brief overview

I conduct my research the field of Body Sensor Network (BSN) architecture in the context of VIRTUVIUS project. In this application, the psycho-physiological data about the behavior of the people is monitored by the sensor nodes. This data can also be used in applications ranging from sport coaching to computer gaming and letting seniors to be aware of their personal behavior in a safe natural environment. The VITRUVIUS project investigates a network consisting of wearable sensors and a body hub device which is computationally powerful than the other nodes acting as a mediator between the BSN and the backend system. In this project, I aim at developing policies for trustworthy and secure access, transfer and access control of a user data.

Currently I am investigating architecture design of the body hub in terms of different architecture diagrams. Using the architecture, I plan to extend the programming language of OSAS (Open Service Architecture for Sensors) developed in WASP project. The ultimate goal my research work will be proposing an idea for securing the wireless communication within the body sensor network. The contribution of SAN group for the VITRUVIUS project can be found here.
