A user account used on remote Linux desktops and compute servers has limited disk space.

Using the command:

dur -q

will show you your current disk usage and quota. If you are over your quota, you must free up disk space before the grace period is over, otherwise it will turn into a hard quota, and you can lose data.

Watch out for automatically generated files, e.g. .ps files, that can take up a lot of space.

To find big files or directories, see the output of the command:

dur -h
