Q: Is this course mandatory?
A: No, you don't have to take it. However, it is strongly recommended if you haven't had any mathematics courses recently.

Q: Do I have to pay a fee to participate in this course?
A: No, it is completely free of charge.

Q: I am on a holiday during part of the course. Is that a problem?
A: No, you can try to work ahead, or try to finish the course later. Even if you don't complete the whole course, it's still good that you have followed part of it.

Q: Do I need to purchase a book?
A: No, all course material is available online.

Q: Are there some lectures that I have to attend in Eindhoven?
A: No, everything is done through the Internet.

Q: If I can do everything in my own time, at my own speed, then why is there a weekly schedule?
A: First of all, because it helps students to have a fixed schedule for a couple of weeks. Secondly, because there will be homework that you have to hand it and which we will grade. We will grade the homework assignments in the designated weeks.

Q: If I complete this online course successfully, do I still need to take a calculus course in Eindhoven?
A: Yes. Unfortunately, this course does not give you any rights to skip the calculus course in your premaster. It will only help you to prepare for that course (and, possibly, several other courses)

Q: I am a (future) Bachelor student and I received an invitation for WisTU/e. What is the relation between WisTU/e and this Online Calculus Preparation course?
A: WisTU/e is aimed for future bachelor students at TU/e. WisTU/e prepares these students for the calculus course they will receive in their first year. Online Calculus Preparation has a similar goal, but is aimed at future (pre)master students. The course setup and the topics in Online Calculus Preparation is different though, because we have a specific seven-week programme and the topics of the last weeks are more advanced than the WisTU/e course material. Conclusion: If you are a future Bachelor student at TU/e, you should probably look at the WisTU/e course.
