error installing ProM 6.9 on mac catalina

Hi,

I get the following error when I try to run the ProMPM69.sh:

./jre/jre1.8.0_172.jre/Contents/Home/bin/java: No such file or directory

However, the file is in the content of the downloaded map. Changing the path in the .sh also doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone know how I could fix this?

  • Hi Ruben,

The problem is that Catalina supports only 64-bit applications, while ProM 6.9 comes with a 32-bit JRE. Replacing this 32-bit JRE with a 64-bit JRE for Mac may allow you to run the Package Manager, but ProM will still have a problem: Many useful plugins rely on the LpSolve package, which is only available as a 32-bit variant for Mac. If you try to start ProM, it will try to load this 32-bit variant on Catalina, which will fail.

My conclusion is that ProM 6.9 will not work on Catalina, unless you (1) can replace the 32-bit JRE with a 64-bit JRE and (2) do not need to have the LpSolve package installed.

    Sorry about this...

    Kind regards,
    Eric.
