About CASA (Center for Analysis, Scientific Computing and Applications)
The Scientific Computing Group is part of the Center for Analysis, Scientific Computing and Applications (CASA). The CASA department is a very active department, and the great and very friendly atmosphere is much appreciated by PhD students, postdocs, and faculty alike. There are several ongoing EU and national projects in various fields, and visiting PhD students from other universities, all of them enjoying the lively environment. The CASA department also has several contacts with large and small companies in the high-tech Eindhoven area and beyond, so that many challenging problems find their way to the department. Cross fertilization between PhD students is strengthened by the special biannual CASA days, where students present their research, and learn about the work done by others. The Wednesday morning colloquia feature very interesting guest speakers. A CASA cooking event and a entire-day CASA outing are among additional yearly highlights.
