Hi there!

I am a Lecturer in Statistics at Eindhoven University of Technology, at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. I recently obtained my PhD in Probability under the supervision of Dr. Júlia Komjáthy.

My research focuses mainly on theoretical aspects of (spatial) random graphs, in particular on distances in Preferential Attachment Models and more recently component sizes in spatial random graph models. While my work is mostly theoretical, applications can be found in e.g. spreading of epidemics, fake news, and computer viruses. The outbreak of COVID-19 has made our theoretical knowledge about epidemics more applicable and led yielding to two applied papers about non-pharmaceutical intervention modeling, and the efficacy of contact-tracing applications. As side projects, I enjoy working on other topics, I have been a visiting researcher at ETH Zurich, where I worked in the Combinatorial Structures and Algorithms group under the supervision of Dr. Johannes Lengler and Prof. Angelika Steger. The research I did there, focused on the analysis of Evolutionary Algorithms.

I like visiting, but also organising workshops, conferences, summer schools, seminars etc. Together with Serte Donderwinkel I initiated and organized the RandNET Summer school on Random graphs.

Before I started my PhD research, I worked as a Data Scientist/Operations Research Engineer at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Here, I also learned to value more applied side of Mathematics, but also of Computer Science and Software Engineering.

In my spare time I love to play the piano (mostly jazz music). At the moment, I play in cover band Hot Stew and Eindhoven Jazz Orchestra.

Current Interests and Projects:
