Home of Johan Lukkien, Welcome!

I am full professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE).

I am chairman of the section Security and Embedded Networked Systems consisting of two separate chairs: System Architecture and Networking (my chair) and Security.

Master students aiming for a project should contact me directly. It is not really feasible to maintain a list of projects as these expire quickly.

We have a continuous need for bright PhD students in the area of networked embedded systems. Positions target the software and system architecture of such systems, and technical questions deriving from that. This includes changes in modern systems to use massive amounts of data. With large industries in the Eindhoven area we study questions that are methodological in nature, addressing the problem of large-scale software construction and evolving such software system over time. For the government we look at standardization questions around vehicle software and concerns of safety, privacy and security. Our research matches the domains of Cyber Physical Systems and the Internet of Things.

Candidates should have a clear background in appropriate areas, viz., distributed systems, software and system architecture, or resource management, and have a Computer Science background. Candidates that we are looking for have a personal drive to understand these systems and to devise new solutions.

Here is a list of current (Oct 2015) vacancies as published on the TU/e website.
