- Variational calculus, gradient flows
- Connections between analysis and stochastics
- The link between large deviations and gradient flows
- Pattern formation and pattern evolution
The PhD students currently in the Applied-Analysis group are
Jasper Hoeksema and Anastasiia Hraivoronska (both supervised by Oliver Tse), Jelle Wemmenhove and Mahefa Ravelonanosy (both supervised by Jim Portegies), and Giacomo Greco (supervised by Alberto Chiarini). Oxana Manita is a postdoc in our group.
