Subject: 2IP15, PDF edition of Programming in the Large with Design Patterns

Yesterday, in the meeting with second-year students coordinated by
Gewis, I found out that delivery through Gewis of the print edition of
Programming in the Large with Design Patterns by Eddie Burris was not
only delayed, but in fact canceled.

Since payments for orders with Amazon.de are not so easy (if you do not
have a credit card), many students still do not have the book.

I contacted the author, and he offers a DRM-free PDF edition for 2 euro.
I have asked Gewis to handle the logistics (not yet confirmed).

The author, Eddie Burris, tries to keep the price of the book as low
as possible, but even producing a PDF version has its costs.

For comparison: the Nook edition by Barnes & Nobles costs USD 2.99
and the Kindle edition by Amazon costs USD 3.85.
